A tiny jewel-like island in the Sulu Sea, just a 90-minute boat ride north of Sandakan, Lankayan has been declared part ofan immense Marine Protected Area to adopt the eco-tourism concept. From March to May, gigantic and gentle whale sharks can be found in the waters surrounding the island.
Lankayan Island being situated within the Sea Turtle Corridor, is also a nesting place and foraging ground for sea turtles; most commonly the Green Turtle and Hawksbill Turtle. Guests will have the chance to see turtles nesting as well as new hatchlings of baby turtles released to the sea especially
in season from June to September.
